This section looks at support contacts which you may wish to go to for specific information. There are ME/CFS support organisations across the world, many with an online presence. There are official sites of national groups as well as sites written by enthusiasts or advocates for research into the physical causes of ME. Some of them will have different acronyms for the illness as over the years there have been different names and different countries seem to run with different preferences.
The United Kingdom is also covered by national, regional and local groups. Some of these groups have telephone helpline support and the numbers for these are listed separately as many people want to talk or seek advice on specific areas. In addition families may wish to seek support from carer organisations, trade unions, disability organisations. These will be listed under general support. Training and education, includes details on expert patients programmes, courses by private providers on management of ME or specific treatments and education courses in relevant health areas such as herbal medicine, holistic therapies. As courses may change obviously potential students should seek guidance from their preferred education provider.
